Renault takes top gong

The Scenic E-Tech has been voted car of the year for 2024 at the Geneva Motor Show.
After the first round of voting, Renault’s fully electric model was one of seven finalists alongside the BMW 5 Series, BYD Seal, Kia EV9, Peugeot E-3008 and 3008, Toyota C-HR and Volvo EX30.
The winner was chosen by a jury of 59 motoring journalists from 22 countries. The Scenic came first with 329 points and has become the seventh Renault to take out the title.
Previous winners were the Renault 16 in 1966, the 9 in 1982, Clio in 1991, Scenic in 1997, Megane in 2003 and the Clio again in 2006.
Developed on the medium AmpR platform – formerly CMF-EV, the Scenic E-Tech electric is light at 1,890kg, compact at 4.47 metres long and is in its element on city roads. It boasts a range of up to 610km on the WLTP.
