Polestar has introduced a long-range single motor to the Polestar 3 line-up, giving consumers another way to get behind the wheel of its SUV.

With a starting price of €79,890 (about NZ$141,000), including handover fee, it is now available in Europe with North America and Australia to follow later in 2024.   

Thomas Ingenlath, chief executive of Polestar, says: “With the long-range single-motor 3, we offer consumers a new entry-point for our flagship electric SUV. 

“The rear-wheel-drive configuration fits with our performance-focused driving dynamics that make the car stand out in the luxury SUV sector.” 

This entry-level variant uses the same 111kWh battery pack as the dual-motor version, offering the same 250kW peak-charging capability for a 30-minute 10-80 per cent charge on DC. Those looking for the most efficient

Polestar 3 yet will find the new long ranger offers up to 650km on the WLTP between charges.  

The motor drives the rear axle of the long-range model only, and produces 220kW and 490Nm of torque. It accelerate from 0-100kph in 7.8 seconds.
