Rally pair battle snow-filled car
Crashing a rally car at high speed into a snowbank was not in rally ace “Crazy” Leo Urlichich’s plans, but he and his co-driver Alex Kihurani certainly managed to see the funny side.
Despite snow filling the car, the windscreen fogging up and Kihurani barely being able to feel his hands because of the cold, the Canadian duo still won their class and finished second overall at the Rallye Perce-Neige Maniwaki in Quebec.
The pair can be heard laughing at their predicament, which included having “rocks of snow” under their feet, after the impact blew out the passenger-side window of their Subaru during the race in February 2018.
The hilarious in-car footage shows Kihurani opening his door so Urlichich can toss out lumps of snow as they race along and later on the co-driver attempts to clear the windscreen with his feet as it mists up.
“Are you having fun yet?” the driver chuckles at one stage.
The clip ends with Urlichich saying, “This is rallying. This is stupid”, as someone is seen shovelling snow out of the car.
