Question time for PM
The Motor Trade Association (MTA) will release its latest warrant of fitness (WOF) inspection of the government’s performance next week.
And to ensure the coalition knows it’s coming, the association has taken out billboard space in direct line of sight from the Beehive asking, “Mr Luxon, is your government roadworthy?”
“The six-monthly government WOF has been a successful way of critiquing government performance in a creative way,” says Simon Bradwell, the MTA’s head of communications. “It’s become a fixture over the past two years.”
Earlier this year, the MTA’s use of the billboard to promote its WOF featured in a segment on TVNZ’s Q+A programme about its location being leveraged by organisations to get government attention.
Bradwell says: “We have a positive and productive relationship with government. The WOF is a way of giving some friendly feedback – praise where merited while identifying areas where we think the government and industry can work together.”
Hot topics in the WOF this review will include road safety, immigration, workplace training and the economy. The results will soon be revealed.
