Prankster pretends to be speed camera

A Frenchman found himself on the wrong side of the law after dressing up as a speed camera and fooling drivers into thinking they’d been caught breaking the limits.

Remi Gaillard’s practical joke sees him standing beside roads in a silvery outfit and emitting a flash at passing cars as if they have been clocked speeding.

Bemused motorists slow down after being “snapped” by the human-sized camera and Gaillard continues to flash away before they drive off.

The video also shows him target a police car in the same way, after which the vehicle reverses and the trickster tries to flee.

At the end of the video, which has been viewed more than 32 million times since it was posted in 2012, Gaillard is driven off in the patrol car – complete with his outfit.
