Pensioner’s precision parking

A classic clip of a Belgian pensioner takes precision parking to the next level as he squeezes a Fiat Panda into his garage with only a few centimetres to spare on either side of the car.

Eugene Breynaert, aged 87 when the video was filmed, talks viewers through the meticulous procedure he followed for years every time he needed to put his car away – and how he managed to get out of the vehicle once it was in the garage.

His ingenious approach was required because his garage measured little more than 1.5-metres across and had to accommodate his car, which was about 1.47m wide.

The impressive technique made him a national star after he appeared on a light-hearted Dutch news show called Man Bijt Hond (Man Bites Dog) in 2010. Breynaert died in 2016, aged 92.
