New directors on board

Two new directors have been appointed to the board of the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI) after its annual general meeting.

Robert Thorp, pictured, director of Honda Australia, and Glen Sealey, who is managing director of Renault Australia, have become directors. Existing board member Andrew Humberstone, vice-president and managing director of Nissan Oceania, has been appointed treasurer.

They join returning directors including chair Vinesh Bhindi, MD of Mazda Australia. The deputy chairs are Matthew Callachor, who is president and CEO of Toyota Motor Corporation Australia, and Shaun Westcott, president and CEO of Mitsubishi Motors Australia.

Other board members are Jamie Cohen, MD of Mercedes-Benz Cars and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Australia-Pacific, Penny Ferguson, MD of Jaguar Land Rover Australia, Matthew Ferry, general manager sales and marketing – land mobility, Yamaha Motor Australia, and Blair Read, managing director of Inchcape Australasia.

The FCAI’s chief executive, Tony Weber, says: “I congratulate Robert and Glen on their appointments to the board, and Andrew as treasurer. Their experience and leadership across key areas of the market will strengthen our ability to represent the sector through a period of significant change.

“With the transition to low-emissions vehicles, rise of intelligent transport systems, growth in global trade protectionist policies and an evolving regulatory landscape, the FCAI’s board plays a critical role in guiding our work, and advancing the interests of consumers and manufacturers.”
