New bosses at dealerships

The Ebbett Group has made a number of changes to leadership positions at some of its Hamilton dealerships.

Poll Oosthuizen has been appointed as the new managing director of Ebbett Hamilton overseeing the BYD, Seat, Cupra, Isuzu and GMSV brands, with Opel joining in October.

Oosthuizen, pictured, has been with the group for seven years and previously led the Ebbett Volkswagen dealership where he was general sales manager, general manager and then dealer principal. He held the latter position for nearly four years before moving into his new role this month.

Prior to joining Ebbett in August 2015, he spent five years with Continental Cars working as a sales executive and then sales manager.

Michael van den Engel has been appointed to fill the dealer principal role at Ebbett Volkswagen after a spell leading Ebbett Skoda in Hamilton East.

Van den Engel joined the group as an apprentice mechanic in 2007 and has extensive dealership experience, having moved from a service adviser role to used car sales manager and more recently dealer principal.

Andrew Unternahrer, who has been in the automotive industry for 20 years, becomes dealer principal of Ebbett Skoda and will combine the role with the same position at Ebbett Audi.

The Audi and Skoda dealerships share the Ebbett premises in Hamilton East and Unternahrer’s appointment keeps a consistency of leadership in that building.
