n3 appoints Manheim NZ

The country’s leading business buying group has confirmed Manheim New Zealand as its preferred supplier of vehicle and fixed-asset disposal services.

The multi-year contract will see Manheim provide n3 members with access to its wide range of vehicle and equipment disposal sales channels and preparation services. The contract was previously held by Turners Auctions.

Manheim specialises in selling vehicles, trucks, machinery and equipment to trade and private buyers on behalf of its customers, which include insurance companies, leasing and finance companies, local government, vehicle manufacturers and dealers.

Craig Ross, managing director of Manheim, says: “The decision by n3 to appoint Manheim as its sole supplier of remarketing services for its members sends a clear signal to the market about our credibility and capability.

“We understand the local market and, by listening to n3’s requirements, we tailored a national solution that fully caters to its needs. Our approach – combined with our ease to do business with and ability to maximise returns for its members – was clearly an appealing proposition.”

Iain Livingstone, n3’s procurement manager, adds: “Manheim was awarded the business following a competitive tender process. Its innovative approach to remarketing a wide range of assets and capability to maximise returns for our members was appealing.

“Offering countrywide disposal via a range of channels, Manheim will make it easier for our members to dispose of their automotive and equipment assets.”

Ross adds: “The great news for our trade and private buyers is that with vehicles, trucks and machinery from n3’s members now being offered for sale at Manheim, they will have the opportunity to purchase an even wider range of quality items.”

n3, formerly known as GSB, started as a government agency more than 100 years ago. It has since evolved to reflect a growing and diversifying member base as the company moved into the private sector.

This shift has introduced more suppliers and members from a wide range of industries, including education, construction, health and manufacturing.

n3 is 100 per cent New Zealand-owned and operated. It currently has more than 12,000 business members and growing. This large network gives it buying power to negotiate exclusive pricing and terms of supply with a variety of suppliers.
