Mitsubishi to unveil the new ASX

Mitsubishi is set to unveil the new 2020 ASX to the motoring world at the 89th Geneva International Motor Show held from March 5 to 17.

Since its launch in 2009, the ASX has sold around 1.32 million units overall in around 90 countries and is currently the fourth-highest selling vehicle worldwide in the Mitsubishi range.

The 2020 ASX has undergone a major design overhaul. Designed for the city, the latest ASX’s versatility makes it well-suited for a range of journeys, from everyday commutes to getaway adventures. Its lightweight, compact body – combined with an SUV’s commanding driver sightlines – give the 2020 ASX excellent handling and easy driveability.

The new model also provides reassurance through safety features including Mitsubishi’s Rise impact safety body and a forward collision mitigation braking system.

“ASX is an established favourite in New Zealand, thanks to its crossover appeal in and out of the city,” says head of marketing and corporate affairs Reece Congdon.

“It was the second highest-selling small SUV in 2018, helping us reach fourth place in the market overall. In January this year, it topped the chart in its segment with a 16.2 per cent market share.

“The strong design of the 2020 ASX follows in the footsteps of the new Triton, which has turned heads and boosted the model’s popularity – taking second place in ute sales for January.

“We’re looking forward to seeing the new model ASX on display in Geneva and anticipate an equally positive reaction from those attending.”
