Mini McLaren just for kids
Budding racing drivers who may not yet even be at school can now get a taste of what it’s like to be behind the wheel of a track-focused electric car for about NZ$735.
The McLaren Senna Ride-On, which follows the miniature version of last year’s 720S, features working dihedral doors and a push-button start activates Senna engine sounds.
Designers have created the car for three to six-year-olds, although F1 driver Lando Norris, pictured, did manage to squeeze into one for a test drive.
Junior journeys can also be accompanied by music, played via an infotainment system, and the model boasts a working brake with brake-light function
The Ride-On is available in five colours – black, white, orange, blue and red. A special-edition colour of yellow with green accents echoes the colours of Ayrton Senna’s race helmet.
It’s priced at £375 in the UK market, and is available to order from McLaren retailers and selected toy shops.
