Chery has confirmed its Tiggo 4 will arrive in New Zealand in two months’ time, making one of Australia’s most awarded and affordable compact SUVs available to Kiwis. 

Named Wheels’ best small SUV – best value and Drive’s best under-$30,000 urban car, it has sold more than 6,400 units across the ditch since September last year. 

Two variants will be offered locally – Urban and Ultimate. Both are powered by a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine producing of 108kW of power and 210Nm of torque. Key features include seven airbags and driver-assistance systems, with the Ultimate also including a 360-degree surround view camera.

When it comes to smart connectivity, there are dual 10.25-inch LCD displays, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth and Hello Chery intelligent voice command.

Inside, the Ultimate includes artificial leather seats, colour-selectable ambient lighting and a 15-watt wireless phone charger.

Included is Chery’s seven-year unlimited kilometre warranty, seven-year capped price servicing and up to seven years of roadside assistance. The brand will officially launch in New Zealand in July supported by 10 dealerships providing full sales and after-sales support.
