Milestone chalked up

Auto Logistics Ltd has transported its 100,000th vehicle from Port of Auckland Ltd (POAL) this month.

The milestone for this year represents a record for the company by surpassing its previous best of 81,000 units in 2021 and is also a 40 per cent increase on its total for last year.

John Keenan, chief executive officer, says: “2023 has been a breakthrough year. With the expansion of our national vehicle-storage capacity to 19,000 vehicles, we have enhanced our service capabilities.”

The event to celebrate the landmark achievement was held at the POAL. The ceremony was an opportunity to acknowledge the contribution of Phil Matheson, port operations manager, and the efforts of the port’s team and drivers.

“Increased demand for our services has allowed Auto Logistics and the wider PTS Group to embark on a programme of capital expenditure, investing in new fleet and facilities,” adds Keenan. “This is an indication of our commitment to continuous improvement and growth in the automotive transportation sector.”

Auto Logistics Ltd has 18 branches and storage locations across New Zealand. As part of the PTS Group, with its head office in Palmerston North, it employs more than 460 people nationally and operates a fleet in excess of 350 vehicles.
