Microcar outruns roller-skating ninjas
The car in the video below may be tiny but with a daring police detective behind the wheel it proves perfect for outrunning and outsmarting five roller-skating ninjas.
The entertaining, and slightly bemusing, high-speed chase comes from the 1984 movie Ninja Thunderbolt.
Stealing the show in this scene is a Bubu 501, which was originally sold by Mitsuoka Motor Company in 1982 and is known overseas as the Honda Zoe Zipper.
The zippy qualities of the three-wheeled single-seat car, or microcar, are put on show as the detective’s driving skills help him escape the pursuing ninjas, who crash into vehicles, railings and kerbs.
He evades the last two roller skaters by driving up a small hill, which is enough to foil the out-of-breath ninjas.
