Mazda New Zealand’s support of the arts continues with its sponsorship of the Michelangelo – A Different View exhibition in Auckland.

The event presents viewers with an up-close view of some of the artist’s most-famous works thar have been photo-mechanically reproduced almost at original size.

During the exhibition, which runs at the Aotea Centre from January 3-30, the public will be able to look down on The Genesis that’s enshrined in the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel rather than looking up.

David Hodge, managing director Mazda NZ, says the company has been a proud supporter of the arts for many years and the Michelangelo exhibition, which features The Creation of Adam, pictured, will be hugely popular.

“During these challenging times with restricted travel and Kiwis enjoying their own backyard more than ever, having the opportunity to see some of the most famous frescoes in Rome’s Sistine Chapel up close and from a different view will be a fantastic experience,” he says.

“The exhibition title – A Different View – also resonates with us as it is similar to the tagline for our recently launched first electric vehicle the MX-30, which is ‘Welcome to Different’.”
