MG unveils EV sports car
MG has officially confirmed the production plans of its high-performance sports car – the Cyberster.
The marque says the two-seater roadster will have “a powerful all-electric powertrain and contemporary cabin featuring cutting-edge driver technology”.
Carl Gotham, advanced design director of the company’s design studio in London, says: “Our intention was to create a completely new roadster ready for a new generation of sports-car drivers, and which opens a bold and compelling chapter for MG.
“The focus for the Cyberster was to create a design that was respectful of the brand’s past and brings back that sporting bloodline, while also being clear that it should be modern and forward-facing.”
The Cyberster’s styling pays homage to past MG roadsters with its distinctive long bonnet, low nose and curvaceous surfaces, while also introducing new features such as scissor doors and Kammback rear design.
The Cyberster, which was unveiled at Auto Shanghai 2023, is expected to arrive for sale in Europe in mid-2024.
