MG shares vision of future
MG has given its Cyberster concept car its world debut at the Auto Shanghai 2021 motor show in China.
The two-door, two-seater sports car draws a number of cues from the MGB Roadster and has been developed by staff at the MG Advanced Design Centre in London.
It features round headlights, a slim grille design, interactive “Magic Eye” headlights that open when switched on, and a “laser belt” LED strip down the side of the car.
The concept’s sporty profile has a flattened “kamm tail” rear and the LED tail lamps are integrated flat into the rear of the car.
An intelligent all-electric architecture will enable a range of 800km and deliver acceleration from 0-100kph time of less than three seconds.
Carl Gotham, director of SAIC Design Advanced London, says: “The Cyberster is a bold statement that looks strongly into MG’s future, touching on our heritage but more importantly building on our cutting-edge technology and advanced design.
“Sports cars are the lifeblood of the MG DNA and Cyberster is a hugely exciting concept for us.”
