Meet Ancap’s new CEO
Carla Hoorweg has been unveiled as the new chief executive officer of Ancap and will be starting in the role in December.
She joins the organisation following a 20-year career across the financial services, legal and political sectors, and has specialised in policy development, advocacy and regulatory change, government relations, business management and strategy.
“Carla will be an invaluable asset to ANCAP, its members, stakeholders and the broader community,” says chairman Andy Cornish.
“She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and expertise in corporate strategy, policy and product development, which will help drive the strategic focus of the organisation and strengthen relationships with our broad range of stakeholders, mobility providers and the automotive industry.
“Carla was selected through a competitive recruitment process with a strong field of candidates. Her achievements and collaborative leadership style are impressive, and we look forward to seeing her skills translate to further improvements in vehicle safety across Australia and New Zealand.”
Hoorweg says: “I am delighted to be joining such an effective and trusted organisation. I have watched Ancap grow and gain traction with consumers and the industry, and I am excited to take it into its next phase of evolution.
“Ancap plays a crucial role in influencing and encouraging the uptake of the latest safety features and technologies, and its importance in reducing road trauma cannot be understated.”
Hoorweg, who is also a qualified solicitor, is replacing James Goodwin, who left the role in May. James Hurnall has been filling the role on an interim basis since then.
Cornish says: “I would like to thank James for his leadership as we undertook the search for a permanent replacement.”
