Mechanic builds Flat Fiat
An Italian mechanic has created what may be the world’s thinnest, driveable car, with the two-seat vehicle measuring an ultra-skinny 50cm wide.
Andrea Marazzi built the “Flat Fiat” from a 1993 Fiat Panda and it features a number of original components, including its four wheels.
However, the Panda’s inline four-cylinder engine was too wide for the project and Marazzi’s creation is instead powered by two 12-volt batteries and an electric motor.
The vehicle took 12 months to build by hand, has a top speed of 15kph, a single-charge range of about 25km and weighs 264kg.
The eye-turning unit isn’t road-legal though and its appearances have been restricted to events, fairs and shows.
