Mazda says its EZ-6 is the first of a series of electrified vehicles developed and made by Changan Mazda and Chongqing Changan Automobile.

It is set to be launched in China by the end of 2024, while its Arata concept is slated for mass production by the end of 2025 into the Chinese market.

In China, where electrification is rapidly advancing, Mazda will expand its line-up of electrified products to increase consumer choice.

Masahiro Moro, Mazda’s president, says: “The EZ-6 is the latest electrified vehicle that combines our strengths with Changan’s electrified technology.

“Going forward, Mazda will continue to work with Changan to turn Mazda’s China business around by introducing unique products that meet the needs of Chinese customers who prefer advanced vehicles.”

The Mazda EZ-6, above, is a dedicated electrified model. It combines the marque’s “soul of motion” design language and its signature driving performance with Changdan’s advanced EV technology and smart technology. Two versions will be available, fully electric and a plug-in hybrid.

The Arata, meanwhile, is a crossover SUV concept with a modern design that “creates a sleek, elegant impression”. Pictured below, it has been designed to “appeal to the advanced, sophisticated taste of Chinese consumers”.
