Marque doubles warranty
Nissan’s More ownership programme – a “comprehensive initiative designed to deliver peace of mind, cost certainty and long-term value” – has been launched in New Zealand.
It extends the company’s service-activated warranty from five years or 150,000km, whichever comes first, to 10 years or 300,000km when its dealer network is used.
In addition, there’s free service-activated roadside assistance for 10 years or 300,000km, and flat-price servicing for the first five scheduled services from manufacturer’s warranty start date.
All parts and components covered under the marque’s new-vehicle warranty remain protected, excluding normal wear and tear, to give owners “confidence well beyond the traditional warranty period”.
Key activation requirements are that each vehicle must have all logbook services completed at authorised dealers and services must be completed within scheduled intervals, or within 60 days or 3,000km of the scheduled interval.
For EVs, the programme complements existing coverage, including an eight-year or 160,000km lithium-ion battery state-of-health warranty to protect against capacity loss below nine bars.
It also offers a backdated warranty extension for eligible vehicles purchased new from January 1, 2023. Owners who have completed all scheduled services with Nissan dealers automatically qualify.
For customers who have serviced their cars outside Nissan’s network, a re-entry opportunity is available by returning for a scheduled service and $99 vehicle assessment at an authorised dealer.
“We’re thrilled to bring the More programme to New Zealand,” says Michael Hill, Nissan Oceania’s director of after-sales.
“It delivers industry-leading peace of mind, cost certainty and long-term value for customers, whether they’re new owners or have been part of the Nissan family since 2023. By extending warranty coverage, roadside assistance and fixed-price servicing, we’re rewarding loyalty and making ownership simpler.
“It isn’t just for new cars. It also adds value when it comes time to sell as the warranty is fully transferable to the next owner, supporting future resale values.”
From April 1, Nissan customers could access up to 10 years or 100,000km of service-activated roadside assistance, renewed annually with each eligible dealer service.
This coverage includes 24/7 nationwide support, such as emergency assistance, battery jump-starts, flat-tyre changes, fuel delivery, lost-key assistance and towing to the nearest authorised Nissan dealer. EV owners get extra support, including battery-charging assistance or towing to the nearest authorised EV service centre.
The More programme also introduces flat-price servicing, offering “transparent fixed pricing” for the first five scheduled services on eligible vehicles.
Hill says this is in a direct response to customer feedback. When an owner gets service with a Nissan dealer, the vehicle is protected under the marque’s customer service promise. Each car is serviced by factory-trained technicians using only genuine parts.
Flat-price servicing covers labour, parts, lubricants and standard scheduled maintenance under normal driving conditions. It costs, for example, $499 for the Qashqai, pictured above, and X-Trail including e-Power models. For the Navara, Patrol and Z, it’s $599.
Eligible vehicles include the X-Trail and Qashqai from model-year 2026 onwards, and all D27 Navaras. Others are the Y62 Patrol Z34 Z with a manufacturer's warranty start date on or after April 1, 2026.
