Marque commits to rugby
LDV New Zealand has signed a landmark agreement with the Northland Rugby Union (NRU) to become a major partner.
The company says the deal marks a major commercial partnership in the NRU’s history and provides a vote of confidence in the sport’s future across Te Tai Tokerau.
From the 2026 season, LDV will take pride of place on the front of the Northland Taniwha and Northland Kauri jerseys, becoming a central part of the identity of the men’s and women’s teams.
The marque’s presence will extend across Semenoff Stadium through prominent branding, enhanced match-day experiences and integrated fan engagement to ensure the partnership is visible at every level of the game.
Building on an existing relationship, LDV has elevated its commitment to the region in a move that “reflects a deep belief in the people, game and role rugby plays in connecting communities”.
Jerry Delaney, pictured above, adds: “Our team is excited we’re taking our partnership to the next level, and there are some strong synergies between LDV and the NRU.
“LDV’s vehicles are built to help Kiwis work harder every day and, like the players, they are focused on success through performance. As well as seeing the LDV fleet used by NRU teams, we’re excited to be involved in activations to engage with fans, grassroots clubs and communities.”
Paul Lennane, chief executive officer of the NRU, adds: “This is a defining partnership for Northland Rugby. It represents a level of investment and belief in our region that’s genuinely significant.
“LDV has already been an important supporter of our organisation. But this next step demonstrates a deeper commitment to our people, clubs and future. This partnership allows us to think bigger about what is possible for rugby in the north.”
