Limited run for Mustangs

Consumers keen to get their hands on a Mustang GT RTR Series Two car are encouraged to act fast with only a limited number being made available for the New Zealand market.

Ford New Zealand has opened its order books for the performance model that has a price tag of $93,990 plus on-road costs.

The marque expects to deliver the cars, which combine modern aggressive styling with RTR tactical performance suspension parts, in early 2022.

The RTR Series Two has a Mustang GT Fastback V8 engine paired with a 10-speed automatic gearbox, which delivers 339kW of power at 7,000rpm and torque of 556Nm at 4,600rpm.

Among the model’s features are 25mm RTR lowering springs with a revised custom spring rate. The spring package has been validated and test track proven by Vaughn Gittin Jr and Ford Performance engineers in Detroit.

Rachel White, Ford NZ’s marketing manager, SUV and passenger vehicles, says: “We are excited to bring another limited run of Mustang RTR vehicles to the market.

“Stunning to look at and great to drive … We’ve got limited volume and a variety of colours to choose from but it’s also first-in, first-served.”

The RTR Series Two rides on RTR 19-inch by 9.5-inch black tech mesh wheels and carries the renowned RTR upper grille with LED lighting and lower grille.

Other RTR features on the vehicle include a windshield banner, rocker splitters, quarter splitters, rear diffuser, badge kit, and graphics package.

On the inside, is a serialised dash plaque autographed by Vaughn Gittin Jr, along with Ford Performance sill plates and RTR floor mats.

The vehicles are available in the following colours with limited numbers of each: Anti-Matter Blue, Rapid Red, Carbonised Grey, Shadow Black, Race Red and Iconic Silver.
