Leaf Nismo makes world debut

Last October at Nissan's "Nissan Futures" event, the company teased the Leaf Nismo Concept, now, Nissan has announced it will finally make its way to production,

The Nissan Leaf Nismo is officially launching in Japan on July 31, 2018, but there are no plans to bring the electric car to markets other than Japan.

According to Nissan, the sportier Leaf is a combination of the advanced technologies of their world’s best-selling electric car with the sporty image and performance of the NISMO road car series.

The car manufacturer also released an overview of all the custom features for the Leaf Nismo version:

The ‘sportier' Leaf sports a chunkier front bumper and a red spoiler lip. Bigger mesh pieces can be found on the trim and the trapezoidal LED clusters are replaced by horizontal units.

The ride height has been slightly dropped and performance rubber added. The exterior also includes custom 18-inch aluminium wheels that help to minimise air resistance.

Nissan says the concept will provide "delicate but strong acceleration response" thanks to a "custom-tuned computer."

Inside, there is a prominent use of custom red accents around the air vents and red stitching on the upholstery. The instrument panel features a custom carbon-like finish, and the electronic shift has a gunmetal chrome finish.
