Lab results beaten
The Subaru Forester Hybrid has delivered a strong real-world result for fuel efficiency in testing conducted by the Australian Automobile Association (AAA).
The test was carried out as part of the federal government’s real-world testing programme, which assesses vehicles under everyday driving conditions to provide motorists with extra information alongside the regulated laboratory-tested fuel-consumption figures used by the car industry.
Testing conducted on public roads around Geelong, Victoria, recorded 4.9l/100km for urban driving and a combined – urban, rural and motorway – fuel-consumption rate of 5.5l/100km for the Forester Hybrid – 12 per cent lower than its official laboratory figure.
Scott Lawrence, general manager of Subaru Australia, says: “It’s particularly pleasing to see the Forester Hybrid deliver such a strong independently verified real-world result. It reinforces the efficiency of our latest strong hybrid powertrain, which delivers that economy while retaining capability and symmetrical all-wheel drive performance.”
