Kiwi wraps off Q4 e-tron
Audi NZ has unveiled a preview of the all-new Q4 e-tron at a shopping mall in Auckland ahead of its arrival in this country early next year.
The fully electric model is the first all-electric SUV for the marque in the compact segment.
It combines “pioneering design”, cutting-edge display technology and “an impressive amount of space” for a smaller car in the Q range.
This is coupled with strong charging and driving performance, and fully electric quattro all-wheel drive, which add sportiness and functionality.
The Q4 e-tron is set to achieve a range of up to 498km on a full charge. It runs off an 82kWh battery with a maximum output of 220kWh and can make the 0-100kph in 6.2 seconds.
Dean Sheed, general manager of Audi NZ, says: “The Q4 e-tron makes it easy to embrace e-mobility with zero CO2 emissions, great range and progressive styling.
“This model, which has sold out in Europe, is perfect for the everyday commute and long-distance driving.
“We’re excited to showcase New Zealand’s first model at our pop-up store at Westfield Newmarket, and encourage people to come and see what this highly anticipated model is all about.”
The Q4 e-tron is an important part of the brand’s electric strategy. Design elements include a high front, powerful body and expressive rear, flat A-pillars, precise lines, short front overhang and large wheels.
The SUV on display is partly wrapped in a geometric print to show it’s a pre-production international model. New Zealand pricing and specifications will be released this year. The Q4 e-tron is at Westfield Newmarket until June 28.
