ITS NZ reveals new business plan

Intelligent Transportation Systems New Zealand (ITS NZ) has updated its "Strategy & Business Plan" to incorporate new objectives, modes and trends as new technologies and innovations converge.

It has been developed considering changes in the industry and reflects the wider industry interests.

ITS NZ now encompasses all transport technologies, including vehicle technology, communication systems, data analytics, mobility as a service, demand management techniques and more traditional traffic management.

David Vinsen, ITS New Zealand's Chair explains the work that went on behind the scenes leading up to the publication of the business plan.

"We've streamlined our governance and committed resource to our operations with a view to scaling up our own activity over the next three years. ITS New Zealand now has a flatter structure, a committed operations capability in our Executive Officer Simon McManus, and a business plan which charts our strategy for the next three years."

"The successful T-Tech conference was an early outcome from an invigorated ITS New Zealand, reflected in our largest annual conference yet and we were further motivated by the positive feedback we've received. We've had great feedback on the calibre of the programme from both local and international attendees, and consequently, we're attracting new members.

"In the pipeline are announcements for T-Tech 2019, more networking and informative events, international speaker series and initiatives to encourage best practice, skills and diversity in our industry."
