Holden dealers back in business
Holden New Zealand’s 31 authorised dealerships are open for business again now the country has moved out of the coronavirus lockdown.
Marc Ebolo, managing director of Holden New Zealand, says the sites will be operating at a reduced capacity as they comply with government restrictions for Covid-19 alert level three.
“Our dealer partners preparing their premises for business and will be following all alert level three requirements,” he explains.
“This will see the introduction of special measures to limit the possible transmission of Covid-19, including following health requirements pertaining to customer interaction as well as considerations relating to sanitation.
“Above all else, we need to do our best to ensure we’re providing employees and customers with a Covid-19 free environment.”
Special steps in place at dealerships for reopening include contactless interaction, revised new vehicle delivery process, and guidelines to ensure vehicles are properly sanitised.
“These changes reflect an all-new way to do business and we’re certainly grateful to have the opportunity to re-engage with our customers,” says Ebolo.
The Covid-19 pandemic and associated lockdowns came hot on the heels of General Motors announcing it was retiring the Holden brand from New Zealand, Australia and Thailand before the end of 2020.
Ebolo says it has been a challenging two months for Holden and he was proud of the marque’s employees and staff at dealerships as they negotiate “unprecedented times, not just for the brand but the world as a whole”.
“Moving to alert level three is very welcomed as we still have a business to run and our dealers have attractively-priced vehicles to sell,” he adds.
