Auxo, an automotive software company, says it is still investigating and trying to resolve a cyberattack launched on its systems by offshore hackers a week ago.

David Murdoch, chief executive, adds the business has engaged outside cybersecurity experts to assist with the issue.

“The perpetrators are sophisticated, offshore criminals so we are getting the best available advice and information,” he explains.

“The security of our customers’ information is of the highest priority to us. We are working tirelessly to get this sorted and implement additional security precautions.

“We would like to thank our customers for their patience and understanding.”

Murdoch, pictured, says confirming the impact on customers is one of Auxo’s top priorities and it continues to contact those directly affected whenever there are relevant developments about the attack.

New Zealand Police are also investigating the matter and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner has been notified.

Auxo provides software for the automotive industry, including dealers and workshops, and its products include SAM, Orion, Synergy and Autoline.
