Gearing up for Formula E

Maserati will continue its commitment to the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship as a manufacturer of GEN4 cars.
The marque will be on the starting grid of the single-seaters series from the 2026/27 season.
Formula E is a “natural choice” for Maserati thanks to its “electric-oriented commitment”, as well as being a competitive platform for testing and developing new technologies.
It made its Formula E debut in 2023 with the Tipo Folgore when third-generation vehicles were being raced.
Starting with the upcoming season 11, the cars will feature a significant increase in performance with GEN3 EVO.
Ahead of the major GEN4 update, the interim generation achieves an output of up to 350kW, four-wheel drive at full power in specific moments of the race and a recovery rate of up to 600kW.
The latest car boasts a step change in performance, with acceleration from 0-100kph in 1.82 seconds – 36 per cent faster than its predecessor.
The GEN4 project aims to achieve a higher level of performance with four-wheel drive throughout the race and further enhancements to power.
Santo Ficili, Maserati’s chief executive officer, says: “For this brand, the bond between the track and road is unbreakable, and the evolution of the single-seaters shows how many possibilities for development electric mobility holds.
“We will continue to draw major developments from races in Formula E to transfer them into our 100 per cent electric range that now consists of the Grecale Folgore SUV, GranTurismo Folgore and GranCabrio Folgore convertible.”
