Ford NZ’s ‘big plans’ to back rally

Ford New Zealand has announced it will be an elite sponsor of this year’s Rally New Zealand, which is being held in and around Auckland from September 29 to October 2.

The event is part of the FIA World Rally Championship and Cameron Thomas, marketing director of Ford NZ, says the company is delighted to be backing the competition’s New Zealand round. 

“New Zealanders – including all of us here at Ford – love all things rally so we’re really excited to be supporting the New Zealand event,” he adds. “We’ve got big plans for the event and getting Ford supporters and our dealer teams involved.”

Extra interest for blue oval fans will be seeing Kiwi siblings Robbie and Amy Stokes, pictured below, competing in the rally. They will be driving a Ford Fiesta AP4 and are sponsored by Team Hutchinson Ford and Ford NZ. 

Ford NZ will also have a special event site, including a next-generation Ford Ranger drive activity, at the Jack’s Ridge special stage of the race on Sunday, October 2.
