Firm targets EV after-market

Infinitev is emerging as a leader in providing reusable, repurposed and recycled batteries for hybrids and electric cars for New Zealand’s automotive after-market.
Backed by Amotiv, the country’s largest automotive parts wholesaler, the Auckland-based company says it is leveraging experience and a shared vision for a sustainable future.
The likes of Kia, Mazda and Hyundai have chosen Infinitev to deliver EV battery repairs and engineering services locally, while Amotiv is behind leading brands such as Ryco, Narva, Projecta, Crown Canopy and Best Bars.
Infinitev’s approach is provide plug-and-play hybrid and EV battery replacements at competitive prices while ensuring support for mechanics and workshops.
Graeme Cochrane, New Zealand branch manager, says the company is committed to reducing environmental impact via its circular-economy business model. This emphasises:
• Reusing batteries by repairing and remanufacturing for as long as possible.
• Repurposing batteries for use in non-automotive applications, such as energy-storage systems.
• Recycling materials from batteries that can no longer be reused or repurposed so nothing goes to waste.
“This zero-landfill approach underlines our mission to contribute to a sustainable future in the automotive industry,” says Cochrane.
For New Zealand workshops, the company says its competitive pricing of premium after-market batteries makes it easier for workshops to offer high-quality, sustainable solutions to customers.
The company says it’s the first to receive certification by the National Transport Research Organisation in Australia and New Zealand for the reuse of hybrid EV batteries.
Cochrane adds: “As EV and hybrid adoption increases, workshops aligning with Infinitev are well-positioned to meet the evolving needs of the market.”
