Man’s ‘unbreakable’ bond with ute

The love between a driver and their ute was put into hilarious focus by Toyota as part of its “Unbreakable” campaign for the Hilux in Australia.

The advert for the 2012 model was created by Saatchi & Saatchi, Sydney, and shows a man becoming thoroughly depressed after his treasured vehicle rolls off a cliff and tumbles into the sea below.

He is seen stumbling through life mourning his Hilux and reflecting on the good times they shared, all soundtracked by the song Baby Come Back by the British-American rock band Player.

Thankfully the tale has a happy end after the man eventually spots the undamaged Hilux washed up on a beach.
