Factory blast kills one

An explosion at a parts factory in Japan that supplies Toyota Motor Corporation has killed one person and injured two, according to fire department officials.
The deadly blast at Chuo Spring’s Fujioka plant in the city of Toyota, Aichi Prefecture, involved a dust collector and happened on March 6.
Nineteen fire trucks attended the incident, reports the Japan Times.
One employee suffered a cardiopulmonary arrest and was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s age and gender were not immediately known.
Two other male employees, aged 52 and 44, reportedly sustained minor injuries.
A similar accident in 2023 at the factory, which produces springs for vehicles, forced Toyota to partially suspend production at some of its Japanese plants.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the latest explosion.
