Ford New Zealand has announced that Armstrong’s Group will become the new owners of Auckland-based North Harbour Ford and John Andrew Ford.

The marque has formally approved the purchase of both dealerships, clearing the way for the ownership transition to proceed.

The acquisition, which becomes effective on October 31, marks a significant expansion of Armstrong’s footprint into the Ford brand and reinforces Ford NZ’s “commitment to delivering exceptional service and support to its customers across the wider Auckland region”.

Annaliese Atina, managing director of Ford NZ, says: “We are delighted to welcome Armstrong’s to the Ford family as the new custodians of our North Harbour and John Andrew dealerships.

“Armstrong’s has built an outstanding reputation over more than three decades for customer care, operational excellence, and investment in its people and facilities.

“It’s scale, expertise and dealer network across New Zealand align perfectly with Ford’s ambitions for growth in Auckland. We are confident this transition will deliver real, lasting benefits for our customers and team members at both dealerships.”

Rick Armstrong, executive director of Armstrong’s, adds: “Ford is a brand with real momentum in New Zealand, particularly with the strength of Ranger and Everest. These two Auckland dealerships represent a fantastic opportunity for our business.

“We are committed to building on the strong foundations already in place, investing in our people and facilities, and delivering the standard of sales, service and customer experience that Armstrong's is known for.”

Armstrong’s is one of New Zealand’s largest privately owned dealership groups. Founded in 1993, its head office is in Auckland. Its dealerships span Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin, and its portfolio of brands include Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, Mazda, Porsche, Audi, Land Rover, Subaru, Nissan and Volvo.
