Electric SUV on show

KGM is making its first public appearance at Fieldays this week following its recent rebrand.

The South Korean manufacturer, formerly SsangYong, is using the southern hemisphere’s largest agricultural event to showcase the brand after the launch of its Torres to New Zealand’s media in March.

KGM will be displaying the all-electric Torres EVX, which encompasses a new design language as the first model produced under KG Mobility ownership.

The vehicle strategically positions itself within KGM’s line-up as a spacious medium-sized SUV with “class-leading” rear cargo space and high-specification technology.

The pure-electric EVX, pictured, is powered by a 73.4kWh battery and uses a single electric motor that produces 152kW and 339Nm of torque to drive the front wheels.

A single charge will power it for up to 462km with a battery warranty of one million kilometres or 10 years, whichever comes first.

The Torres EVX is the only KGM being featured at the Fieldays, with the brand taking the opportunity to clear the last models of SsangYong stock in accordance with the change in direction.

Kym Mellow, general manager of Inchcape NZ, distributor for KGM, says: “If you are in the market for an incredible deal on a SsangYong, Fieldays is the place to find one.

“As the brand is being phased out, we are offering huge run-out discounts on SsangYongs as we undertake a stock-clearance sale. Fieldays attendees can buy a brand-new SsangYong with a five-year warranty from only $26,990 plus on-road costs.”

Five 2024 SsangYong models are on display and priced to clear. They are the Tivoli Limited, Korando Sport and Limited, Rhino SPR and Rexton SPR Blackout. Fieldays at Mystery Creek Events Centre, Hamilton, runs until June 15.
