Director steps up at Turners
Turners Automotive Group has appointed Lauren Quaintance to its board as an additional independent director.
She has been working with the company as an emerging director since October 2021, and more recently as a director of DPL Insurance, a subsidiary of Turners.
Quaintance, pictured, has additional directorships with ChristchurchNZ and the Crusaders and was recently appointed as chief media and data officer for Sky TV.
She has had an extensive career within media, having worked for Fairfax Media, now Nine Entertainment Company, in Australia in senior management positions including general manager and managing editor.
In 2013, she co-founded a digital content marketing agency called Storyation, which was acquired by NewsCorp in 2019.
Grant Baker, Turners’ chairman, says: “Lauren’s experience in the digital and social marketing sector combined with her business acumen has proven to be a great fit for our business.
“Lauren has brought real value to our strategic direction and board discussions and we know this contribution will only continue to grow.”
Quaintance notes she has enjoyed getting to know the Turners Automotive Group team over the past 18 months and learning about its strategic priorities for the business.
“I see lots of opportunity for this iconic Kiwi company to further improve customer connection and drive even more shareholder value,” she adds.
Her appointment is effective from April 3 and shareholder approval will be sought at the group’s annual shareholder meeting in August.
