Giltrap growing

Sir Colin Giltrap and his business partner John Fairhall have acquired Archibald and Shorter Roverland’s dealerships in Greenlane, Auckland and on the North Shore. Michael Giltrap, joint managing director of Giltrap Group Holdings, says the company is excited about the growth of the marques that the company represents. “We see these brands gaining further market share – we are very selective on the brands we invest in, we are not buying dealerships just because the car market is growing,” he told Autofile. “Land Rover is the obviously the main reason for the investment, however we see further growth from Jaguar and Volvo in the future as well.” Chief executive officer Richard Holden is selling his 50 per cent stake in the two dealerships. The Giltrap Group distributes Audi, Volkswagen and Skoda in this country. On the retail side, Giltrap Prestige holds franchises for Bentley, Volkswagen and Porsche, while Aston Martin and Lamborghini are Prestige Ltd’s marques. Giltrap North Shore is Holden and Kia, and Schofields and Co is Holden and HSV. Its other dealerships in the city include Giltrap Nissan, Giltrap Skoda, Lexus of Auckland City, Giltrap Audi and McLaren Auckland.
