Trader numbers at 13-year low
National register records third consecutive monthly decrease and is down by 219 from a year ago.

The number of dealers on the Motor Vehicle Traders Register (MVTR) fell by 29 last month, with the total at the end of June standing at 2,633.
It marks three consecutive months of decline since the tally reached 2,841 in March this year.
The figure is the lowest since June 2012 when there were 2,605 registered traders nationwide.
Last month’s total is also 219 below the 2,852 recorded at the end of January 2024.
Dealer numbers have largely been in decline since hitting a high of 3,535 in November 2017.
The MVTR holds essential information about registered traders and their businesses. It is operated by Occupational Regulation, which is part of the market integrity branch of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.
