Dealer network unveiled

Omoda is inching closer towards launching in this country after confirming 12 dealers with more announcements coming soon.

Currently, the marque has 11 in the North Island and one for the South Island, says Wayne Wei, network development manager.

He adds Omoda NZ has entered into agreements with a “well-respected established dealer network” for each region. All appointed dealers will offer sales, service and spares.

Sheldon Humphries, country manager, says: “For launch in 2024, I believe we are well-represented in the North Island. Phase two of the set-up will see more focus on the South Island.

“Our goal is to create customer confidence by having a well-established dealer network representing Omoda across New Zealand.”

Its dealerships in Auckland are North Shore – Winger Motor Group, West Auckland – West City Auto Group, Central Auckland – Tristram European, East Auckland – Winger Motor Group and Southern Auckland – Winger Pukekohe.

In the rest of the North Island, they are Hamilton – Ebbett Motor Group, Tauranga – Tauranga Motor Co, Taupo – Ingham Motor Group, Hawke’s Bay – Eurocity, Palmerston North – Eurocar and Wellington – Brendan Foot Motors. The South Island franchise is Christchurch – Blackwells Motor Group.

Omoda NZ is currently accepting expressions of interest for dealer representation in Invercargill, Blenheim and Nelson.

Humphries says the company is excited to work with this dealer network, and the businesses bring a wealth of experience and are trusted in their communities.

“Having a dealer network of this calibre will add confidence for new owners. We expect to have showrooms’ exterior branding completed in February. New Zealand showrooms will be branded Omoda Jaecoo allowing for the introduction of Jaecoo later in 2024.”

First out of the blocks for Omoda NZ will be its global SUV the C5 and the E5, which is the C5’s fully electric variant. Extra models are planned for 2024. The marque’s model range for our shores will include internal combustion engine, plug-in hybrid and BEV options.

It continues to grow its global footprint with a planned UK launch in early 2024. The first confirmed models for there are the petrol-powered C5 and E5.
