Crazy downhill racing contest

America is home to an extreme sport that sees grown men and women careering downhill at high speed on toy cars and producing plenty of spectacular crashes.

Barbie Jeep racing is held on steep, muddy hills with the aim being to get over the finish line as quickly as possible.

It appears only a few manage to successfully steer their tiny vehicles to the end of the course without crashing, and those who do part ways with their cars are left to drag or carry them to the finish.

There are some basic rules such as a helmet must be worn, the vehicles must be made from hard plastic, the motor must have been taken out and the cars must also have some form of steering – although videos from such events suggest the last part proves of little use to most competitors.

And if you like the action in the video below, you can find more footage of Barbie Jeep downhill competitions at the Rednecks with Paychecks YouTube channel.
