Cox links up with Chery

Cox Automotive Australia (CAA) has teamed up with Chery Motor to power up its ex-fleet demonstrator auctions.
The Chinese marque is now working with Manheim, a Cox subsidiary, to run its dealer-only closed internal auctions.
They are the channel through which Chery’s franchise dealers can bid on low-kilometre used vehicles from the company’s own fleet.
Stephen Lester, CAA’s chief executive, says: “We are pleased to work with Chery on its remarketing strategy, and delighted to see so many of its franchise partners participate in ex-company fleet auctions.
“In today’s retail market, low-kilometre used vehicles are an important piece in the puzzle for franchise dealers and results suggest Chery’s growing range of SUVs are ticking the right desirability boxes.”
Head of OEM, Heath Stubbs, adds CAA’s relationship with Chery has scope to grow beyond closed dealer auctions with respective senior management team exploring ways to broaden their collaboration.
“Cox Automotive Australia is eager to explore additional services we can offer to support Chery Motor’s impressive volume aspirations in Australia,” says Stubbs.
“This presents us with an opportunity to strengthen our partnership and drive even greater success together.”
As well as Manheim’s wholesale auctions, CAA offers a range of retail services to carmakers and dealers, including its newly developed AI-enabled lead-management system Lead Driver, and fixed-operations customer platform Xtime, which counts several of Australia’s top automotive OEMs as clients.
Lucas Harris, managing director of Chery Motor in Australia, says: “We look forward to working closely with the Manheim team and our dealers to continue positive momentum.”
