Slapstick adventures with hybrid

Comedian and actor Melissa McCarthy amusingly tries to singlehandedly save the planet from a range of threats in the advert below while getting the call to arms as she drives her co-star – a Kia Niro hybrid SUV.

The US star plays a hapless eco-warrior who suffers a range of indignities in her attempts to save the whales, a forest, polar ice caps and rhinos.

The “Hero’s Journey” advert appeared during the 2017 Super Bowl and features the line: “It’s hard to be an eco-warrior, but it’s easy to drive like one.”

At the time, McCarthy said: “For years, I’ve been trying to find the perfect project that combined the real threat of me breaking every bone in my body, with my desire to help save the environment. Thanks Kia!”
