Newcomer locks in branches

Chery New Zealand has announced Winger Motors will be selling its vehicles from three dealerships when the marque launches here in July.
The group will provide full sales and aftersales support for Chery from branches in Pukekohe, Auckland Central and Auckland South.
The dealerships will be among 10 helping launch the Chinese brand, with Chery NZ already announcing partnerships with Ingham Motor Group and Blackwells Motor Ltd.
Spearheading the marque’s arrival will be the Tiggo 4, with pricing and specifications for the SUV now confirmed.
It will be available in Urban and Ultimate variants, which both have a five-star ANCAP safety rating and are powered by a 1.5L turbo-petrol engine that produces 108kW or 210Nm.
The Urban, pictured, is priced at $24,990 plus on-road costs (ORC). It includes 17-inch alloy wheels, a dual 10.25-inch LCD instrument cluster and integrated multimedia touchscreen, seven airbags and a reverse camera.
The Ultimate will have a $29,990 price tag plus ORC and features 18-inch alloy wheels, artificial leather seats, heated front seats and a power sunroof.
Lucas Harris, chief operating officer of Chery ANZ, says: “We’re excited to bring the Tiggo 4 to New Zealand – a smart, stylish SUV that has already proven its value in Australia.”
