BMW Group has revealed it is in “constructive talks” with its network of dealers as it plans to allow consumers to bypass traders and buy directly from the marque.
Nicolas Peter, the carmaker’s chief financial officer, says the new structure will apply for Mini vehicles from 2024 and for BMW models from 2026.
“We want to give customers the opportunity to order directly from us,” Peter, pictured, told German newspaper Muenchner Merkur.
His comments came as the carmaker announced a pre-tax profit of €4.1 billion (NZ$6.9b) in the third quarter of 2022 after higher car prices offset a dip in sales volumes.
