BMW 4 Series in NZ

The BMW 4 Series is about to arrive in New Zealand. “The 5 Series has long been the standard in its class for driving pleasure and innovation. This is further improved with an unbelievably high level of connectivity, driver assistance technology and comfort while still delivering a car which offers an unparalleled driving experience," says BMW Group New Zealand managing director Florian Renndorfer. The new BMW 5 Series brings to the market a comprehensive engine range at launch, with a choice of both petrol and diesel options from BMW’s latest generation of engine technology. The New Zealand range will initially comprise of 520d, 530d and the range-topping 540i. All BMW 5 Series models in New Zealand feature the Driving Assistant Plus package as standard which, utilising a suite of radar and camera sensor systems, includes such systems as Active Cruise Control with Stop&Go function. The BMW 5 Series is a showcase for the latest in-vehicle connectivity. Featuring a full complement of Connected Drive functionality, the 5 Series offers the latest iDrive system and Navigation system Professional as standard with a larger, 10.25-inch touchscreen user interface. The latest-generation full-colour BMW Head-Up Display has a projection surface that is 70 per cent larger than before and displays traffic signs, telephone listings, radio stations, music tracks, navigation instructions and warnings from the assistance systems. Priced from $99,900 plus on–road costs, the BMW 520d offers a new starting point in the 5 Series range. The 520d offers a modern and fuel efficient diesel engine, delivering an effortless 140kW of power and 400Nm of torque, with fuel consumption and CO2 emissions of just 4.3 l/100km and 114g/km respectively. Further in the BMW 5 Series range, the 530d is priced from $133,900 plus on-road costs. The 530d is now offered with a new generation six-cylinder turbodiesel engine, delivering 195kW of power and 620Nm of torque, along with fuel consumption of 4.7 l/100km and 124g/km of CO2 emissions. The BMW 540i completes the New Zealand range, and is priced from $142,900 plus on-road costs. Featuring a six-cylinder in-line petrol engine and rear-wheel drive, a layout synonymous with BMW, this latest generation powertrain produces an outstanding 250kW of power and 450Nm of torque, while at the same time offering a remarkable level of fuel consumption and emissions of 6.7 l/100km and 154 g/km respectively.
