Blincoe grabs early lead
Zach Blincoe is top of the 2025-2026 Bridgestone GR86 Championship standings after winning one race in the opening round at Hampton Downs and finishing third and fifth in the other two.
He is 12 points ahead of Mackenzie Motorsport teammate Arthur Broughan, who took the chequered flag in the first and third contests at the circuit, with Josh Bethune a further six points back in third.
Blincoe secured his first overall race victory in style on the morning of November 2 after passing race leader Cooper Barnes at the start of the final lap.
Meanwhile, Toyota 86 Trophy Series winner Lee Zeltwanger grabbed his first “main game” podium result with third in the 10-lap race.
Broughan won the other races on November 1 and 2, leading the latter 12-lap contest from pole position to the finish as he edged out reigning champion Hugo Allan.
The pair spent most of the race in a close battle but Broughan hung on at the end to win by two hundredths of a second.
Josh Bethune finished that race third to go with his runner-up spot in the first race of the weekend.
Broughan took his debut win in the opening race after front-row drivers Chris White and Allan were given five-second penalties for a jumped start. Blincoe was third.
The series now takes a nine-week break before round two at Hampton Downs on January 9-11.
