Assurant – a global business services company that supports, protects and connects major consumer purchases – has been named one of world’s most ethical by Ethisphere, a leader in defining and advancing business practices.
This year, 136 honourees were recognised spanning 20 countries and 44 industries.
“Throughout our business, our clients are some of the most valuable brands in the world,” says Keith Demmings, pictured, Assurant’s president and chief executive officer.
“Operating ethically is foundational to protecting their brands as well as ours. Being named one of the world’s most ethical companies is a testament to the thousands of Assurant employees who work according to our values every day.”
Jay Rosenblum, chief legal officer, adds: “Operating ethically at scale requires clear policies, compelling training and robust procedures.
“I’m proud of the work our legal and compliance teams have done to put these measures in place, as well as the decisions our employees make every day to do the right thing on behalf of Assurant and our clients.”
Erica Salmon Byrne, Ethisphere’s chief strategy officer and executive chair, says: “It’s always inspiring to recognise the world’s most ethical companies.
“Through the rigorous review process, we see the dedication of these organisations to continually improving their ethics, compliance and governance practices to the benefit of all stakeholders.
“Congratulations to Assurant for achieving this honour and demonstrating that strong ethics is good business.”
