ANCAP overhauls websites
ANCAP has refreshed its websites to provide motorists with extra ways to check the safety ratings of current or prospective new cars, and to explore the latest information on vehicle safety and test processes.
The revised sites – www.ancap.co.nz in New Zealand and www.ancap.com.au in Australia – and offer new tools to enhance search functionality. These enable visitors to quickly and easily view safety ratings for more than 830 new and used models.
Providing customised search results, the new “help me choose” tool builds a list of safer vehicle choices based on the usage needs of the individual.
A new “search by brand” facility is also provided, catering for marque-loyal buyers and those who have already refined their purchasing decisions to a specific make. Enhanced filtering is also offered.
Fresh content profiling the key aspects of a safer vehicle, the range of tests conducted, definitions of each star-rating level and safety technologies fitted to today’s new cars have also been included.
Explanatory videos and animations have been developed, making it easy for individual consumers, students, parents and fleet managers engage with and understand the rating process.
“The ANCAP website is far more than just a platform to search for safety ratings,” says Carla Hoorweg, chief executive officer. “It provides a wealth of information allowing users to better understand safety features, and learn what and how we test.
“A lot has changed over the past few decades to enhance the safety of vehicles available in our market and visitors to the sites can see how far things have progressed.”
