Honda has released its 2022 generation Civic Hatch, which combines European-inspired exterior styling and five-door versatility, to the New Zealand market.

It also promises driving enthusiasts a more dynamic experience with ride and handling developed in Europe, and an upgraded 1.5-litre turbocharged engine.

The all-new model includes technological updates including the most advanced and comprehensive Honda Sensing suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies ever offered in this country.

Key standard equipment includes a nine-inch colour touchscreen, Bose premium sound system and a seven-inch digital instrument display.

“The Civic is a critical part of Honda’s DNA in New Zealand and that continues with this 11th generation” says Matt Woodburn, marketing and product manager.

“With its sporty, fun-to-drive driving character, exterior styling and flexible interior packaging, the new Hatch will appeal to new Honda fans and long-term Civic loyalists.”

As the marque’s longest-running nameplate, more than 24 million Civics have been sold globally since 1972 to make it one of the top six best-selling passenger cars worldwide, ever.

New Zealand was the first country outside Japan to assemble the Civic and this continued on our shores up until the sixth iteration.

The 2022 Civic Hatch Sport is priced at $47,000 plus on-road costs of $800.
